A social trader is forex trader who shares information about the market and his or her trades with an online community. A social trader can use the analysis of other traders in making trade decisions or even mimic trades and strategies that have been posted.

Since then, dedicated platforms have evolved to serve communities and allow traders to create their own sub-communities of followers, gurus and so on.
