Definition - What does Flow Trader mean?

Flow traders are the market makers in the foreign exchange market. Flow traders work for the banks that make up the interbank market and provide two-way quotes to these banks’ customers on the buy and sell price of specific currencies. Flow traders are also referred to as execution traders.

ForexDictionary explains Flow Trader

Flow traders handle the large forex orders that banks send to other banks over the interbank market. Their customers put in orders of one million units or more and the flow traders fill the orders on the interbank market, making money for their bank off of the spread. Flow traders are responsible for many of the trades that set market prices.
